สาขา Linguistics มีความสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความรู้และความเข้าใจในภาษา และสามารถนำไปใช้ในหลากหลายสายงาน เช่น การสอนภาษาที่เป็นภาษาต่างประเทศ การเรียนภาษาและการสื่อสาร การแปลภาษา และงานด้านการเสริมสร้างความรู้ในภาษาและวัฒนธรรมเพื่อการพัฒนาในทางธุรกิจและการท่องเที่ยว เป็นต้น  

Linguistics คืออะไร 

ภาษาศาสตร์หรือ Linguistics เป็นสาขาวิชาที่ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับภาษาทั้งด้านทฤษฎีและการใช้งาน โดยเน้นการศึกษาและทำความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับระบบภาษา การวิเคราะห์เกี่ยวกับโครงสร้างของภาษา (Syntax) การเกิดเสียงของภาษา (Phonetics) รูปแบบของเสียงในภาษาและการเรียงลำดับเสียง (Phonology) ไวยากรณ์ (Morphology) รวมถึงศึกษาเกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาษาและสังคม (Sociolinguistics) โดยใช้การวิเคราะห์และการสังเกตการณ์ทางภาษา 

ทักษะที่จะได้จากการเรียน

ทักษะในการสื่อสาร ซึ่งเป็นจุดประสงค์หลักของการเรียน Linguistics เพื่อให้เข้าใจโครงสร้างของการสื่อสารในรูปแบบและบริบทต่าง ๆ และเลือกใช้ภาษาในการสื่อสารได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ  

ทักษะทางสังคมและความต่างในวัฒนธรรม การเรียน Linguistics ช่วยเพิ่มทักษะในการเข้าใจและสื่อสารกับคนที่มีวัฒนธรรมและภาษาที่แตกต่าง ช่วยให้นักศึกษาเข้าใจในความแตกต่างของวัฒนธรรมและกระบวนการคิดข้ามวัฒนธรรม 

ทักษะในการสังเกตและวิเคราะห์การ เพื่อช่วยในงานที่ต้องอาศัยการตีความ วิเคราะห์ และสืบค้น โดยนักศึกษาสามารถวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลทางภาษาที่ซับซ้อนและเข้าใจรูปแบบการใช้ภาษาทั้งที่เป็นคำพูดหรือลายลักษณ์อักษร (Verbal Communication) และไม่ใช่คำพูด (Nonverbal Communication) 

ทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต หรือ Lifelong Learning ในภาษาอังกฤษ เนื่องจากการเรียนรู้ทางภาษาศาสตร์และระบบสังเคราะห์ทางภาษาเป็นกระบวนการที่ต้องการการเรียนรู้และพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่อง
