If you are interested in studying in Melbourne but uncertain if it will be a good fit for your lifestyle. Let’s hear some recommendations from Swinburne’s students.
1. St.Kilda Beach
St.Kilda Beach is the closest to the town centre, is easy to get to, has a pleasant atmosphere, and is close to Point Ormond, a sightseeing spot from which you can see both the sea and the city. – 📝 Winter
2. Fitzroy Garden
Fitzroy Garden is a very large garden city. Large tree lines keep the garden cool even in the hottest days of summer. It is in a good location because it is not directly in the city center but is close to the CBD, making it accessible. So I like going there for picnics, exercise, or reading. – 📝 Aye
3. Saint Helen Cafe
A Saint Helen cafe on Riversdale Road, just 15 minutes’ walk from the Swinburne University of Technology, is one of my favourite spots to visit in Melbourne. This café is a hidden gem with excellent coffee, delicious food, and friendly staff. The place has a delightful ambience and is always filled with lovely local customers. – 📝 May

4. Point Ormond
I like going to Point Ormond because the atmosphere is fantastic. Skyscrapers can be seen from a long distance away, and there is a chilly breeze. I would recommend going there in the late afternoon to view the sunset, which is stunning and a must-see if you visit Melbourne. – 📝 Chang
5. State Library Victoria
My favorite place is State Library Victoria. I sometimes want to change locations to do my homework, and this location is ideal. It is also located in the heart of the city, so after finishing my assignment, I can do some shopping. – 📝 Nita
6. Camberwell Sunday Market
Camberwell Sunday Market is another favorite. It’s the second-hand goods market. There is a lot of interesting stuff. I like to go there to look for vintage items. The main thing is that it is only about 15 minutes away from my accommodation. – 📝 Nita
