Lancaster University
The University of Lancaster received its royal charter in 1964 with a reputation for innovation and one of the few universities to run a collegiate system. In recent years the University has gained a strong reputation by consistently appearing in the UK top 10 lists and being named International University of the Year. It’s been reported that 89% of Lancaster graduates move into professional jobs or further education after graduation – among the highest levels in the UK.
The University has 4 main faculties consisting of arts and social science, health and medicine, management school, science and technology. There are approximately 300 undergraduate programs and 200 graduate programs to choose from.
The campus covers a beautiful 560-acre parkland site called the Bailrigg campus, located a few miles from Lancaster city centre, with students often using the cycle lane to get between campus and the city. As a collegiate university, residence halls are located within individual colleges, of which there are eight undergraduate residences and one graduate residence. Sports facilities on campus include eight tennis courts, six football pitches, five netball courts… and three rugby pitches!
