Edge Hill University
Edge Hill University was founded in Liverpool in 1885 as the first non-denominational teacher training college for women. From its beginnings as a specialist institution with only 41 female trainee teachers, Edge Hill University now has over 20,000 students. Offering a diverse portfolio of more than 250 courses (and still growing), the university is divided into three main faculties: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, and the Faculty of Education.
The main campus has been based in Ormskirk, Lancashire for over 90 years, and the St James’ campus is located in the heart of Manchester. Collaborations with institutions across the North West of England also provide students with more accessible learning locations.
