Course: MSc in Data Science and Analytics
Institution: University of Leeds
Please tell us about yourself – what course and institute did you study before going to the UK?
Before going to the UK, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Kasetsart University.
Why did you choose to study in the UK?
There are many top-ranked universities in the UK offering one-year master’s programmes. The UK is also very welcoming to international students and has a high level of cultural diversity. In addition, there are many opportunities for work and travelling across Europe.
Why did you choose this institute and what is your memorable experience at the institute?
I chose the University of Leeds because it offers the course I was interested in, which is Data Science. The programme provides a wide range of modules to choose from.
Leeds is also a city with very friendly people, and the cost of living is lower compared to larger cities such as London or Edinburgh.
Why did you choose this course?
I chose the MSc Data Science and Analytics because I wanted to change my career path from Electrical Engineering to a field related to programming and analytics. In addition, Data Scientist is currently a highly in-demand and marketable profession.
How will your degree help your future career after graduation?
As my previous background is not directly related to data science, this degree will significantly expand my career opportunities in the future.
What did you like the most about our service and your counsellor?
P’Ploy from One Education helped me with many aspects throughout the process:
- Helped me search for and recommend courses from different universities that matched my requirements
- Assisted with planning ahead and preparing important documents for both university applications and the student visa, as well as providing other useful information
- Helped save time during the application process and ensured there were no errors in the documents
- Advised me on what to do both after receiving an offer and if I did not receive one
- Helped find accommodation that was suitable and reasonably priced, and provided guidance on preparing for living in the UK for one year
- Provided a clear timeline of what needed to be done, such as applying for jobs in the UK, opening a bank account, and applying for a BRP card and student ID
If you are still unsure whether to contact a study abroad counsellor, I would strongly recommend starting as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may lose valuable time and miss out on useful information from experienced and professional advisors 🙂
