Loughborough Nightline

If there are nights when you feel lonely, can’t sleep, or simply want someone to talk to, but feel hesitant about visiting Student Services on the 4th floor, perhaps because you’re worried about explaining your feelings face-to-face or feel a bit shy, the university completely understands. That’s why Loughborough University offers the Loughborough Nightline service, specifically designed to support students outside of the university’s regular working hours. So if you ever feel lonely, upset, or just need someone to talk to at night, you can call, email, or send a message. Fellow students volunteer to listen, chat, and offer support, creating a safe and understanding space for anyone who needs it.

Online Resource

For international students, English can be quite a challenge. The more you study and dive deeper into your courses, the more new and unfamiliar vocabulary you encounter in almost every class. The university understands this well—English may sound easy (but not really!). That’s why the university provides online resources that students can access anytime and anywhere to help strengthen their English skills. Students can improve their academic English, which can be applied to writing reports, participating in debates, and communicating confidently and professionally.

The 15–15–30–45 Formula

The team at One Education would like to clarify first—this is not a fertilizer formula! Instead, it’s a proven formula for helping students secure a job. This approach is used by the Careers Consultancy Service at Loughborough University, a department dedicated to providing career guidance and support for students. 15 minutes – Staff provide ideas and inspiration for job searching, recommend potential job opportunities, and help refine and improve students’ CVs. Another 15 minutes – Students can ask questions about career paths, job applications, and professional advice. 30–45 minutes – Students can schedule a session to receive career guidance, practice job interviews, and assess their readiness before applying for real jobs, with support from experienced career advisors.

Loughborough Enterprise Network

Loughborough Enterprise Network (LEN) is one of the most exciting opportunities for students with entrepreneurial potential. If you have creative ideas, strong motivation, and dreams of becoming a business owner, Loughborough University is ready to support you in making those ambitions a reality. The university organizes LEN activities throughout the year, including competitions and events designed to inspire and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. These initiatives give students the chance to showcase their talents, develop their ideas, and potentially become startup founders, turning their goals into real business opportunities.

Shutter Bus No.7

For students studying at the Loughborough campus, the university provides Shuttle Bus No. 7, which offers transportation for both students and university staff. The shuttle runs from the railway station directly to the campus, so students don’t have to walk long distances. The Bus No. 7 service runs every 10 minutes from Monday to Saturday throughout the year, making travel between the station and campus very convenient.

Burleigh Court Conference Center and Hotel

Did you know that the university even has its own luxury hotel? Loughborough University has a 4-star hotel called the Burleigh Court Conference Center and Hotel, which offers more than 200 rooms. It is considered one of the largest hotels in central England. This means that when students graduate and their family members travel to attend the graduation ceremony, they won’t have to worry about finding accommodation—because the university already has everything conveniently available in one place.

Student Clubs

Loughborough University offers a wide range of student clubs and societies, allowing students to take part in activities with friends, seniors, and juniors who share similar interests and passions. The university has more than 150 clubs and societies to choose from. No matter where students come from—regardless of nationality, religion, or interests, there is definitely a club that matches everyone’s interests and hobbies.
