Nobbys Beach

Newcastle is the largest coal export port in the world, and Nobbys Breakwater is the part that extends into the Pacific Ocean, guiding ships into the Hunter River. Newcastle Museum

The museum, established in the former Honeysuckle Railway Workshops, showcases the history of steam locomotive industry, the history of Newcastle, and a permanent exhibition about **Supernova**, along with other rotating exhibits throughout the year.

Newcastle Art Gallery

The art gallery houses over 7,000 pieces of local artwork and artifacts, originally collected by Dr. Roland Pope, an ophthalmologist from Sydney, who believed Newcastle was the ideal city for showcasing art. Today, the gallery also features rotating exhibitions of works from around the world.

Blackbutt Reserve

A 182-hectare conservation area, just 6 kilometers from the heart of Newcastle, is dedicated to preserving eucalyptus trees as a habitat for koalas and other local wildlife, such as emus and wombats.
