University of Sussex
University of Sussex is located near the city of Brighton in the south of England. It is considered one of the UK’s “new wave” universities, having been established in 1960. The university is known for its significant ethnic and cultural diversity and is also regarded as one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK, surrounded by green spaces and featuring award-winning architecture designed by Scottish artist Sir Basil Spence.
The University offers over 12 academic departments, and international students can enter the university through the Pathway programme in partnership with Study Group, which provides preparatory courses such as Foundation, International Year One, and Pre-Masters. These programmes help international students develop the academic skills needed before progressing to undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
The university is also renowned for its research, with over 75% of research being rated as World-Leading or Internationally Excellent, particularly in fields such as History, English, Geography, and Psychology.
Location
University of Sussex’s campus is just 9 minutes by train from the city center of Brighton. Brighton is often referred to as one of England’s gems by Lonely Planet. The city is vibrant and full of fun, known as “London by the Sea” because, in addition to its beautiful coastline, it has a lively nightlife and is of historical significance with many art events. Each year, Brighton hosts the Brighton Festival, one of the UK’s most renowned art festivals. The university is also conveniently located, not far from London and major international airports like Gatwick and Heathrow.
