University of Surrey
The University of Surrey is located within the town of Guildford, Surrey. It received its royal charter in 1966, and was previously situated near Battersea Park in south-west London.
There are three faculties within the University: Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences, the University is best known for courses in science, engineering, medicine and business. Surrey received a prestigious Gold award in the first ever Teaching Excellence Framework and they continue to provide students exceptional links with industry and a fantastic professional training programme.
The University is major centre for satellite and mobile communications research, with the flagship development of 5G technology worldwide. The university also owns the Surrey Research Park, which contains over 100 companies engaged in research. The University of Surrey’s main campus a is safe and self-contained student community located on Stag Hill close to the centre of Guildford and a second campus, at Manor Park, is located a short distance away containing accommodation, academic buildings and sporting facilities. It takes just 34 minutes to reach London from Guildford station.
