University of Southampton
The University of Southampton is located on the south coast of England, in the city of Southampton, it is a founding member of the Russell Group and currently has around 25,000 students enrolled. The University is known for being research-intensive and is widely considered the UK’s leading university for Engineering. The University performs well across major ranking bodies both in the UK (15th overall in the Times University Guide 2023) and Top 100 globally QS World University Rankings 2024).
Southampton is a vibrant and lively city just over 1 hour journey from London, as well as having convenient transport links to other UK and European cities. Southampton remains a significant international port with the marina often hosting high profile international events. The overall population of Southampton is represented by approximately 15% students so there are plenty of entertainment, sporting and leisure activities on offer for the young population. There are nine halls of residence available at the seven campuses of the University of Southampton.
