SOAS University of London
SOAS University of London is a member of the University of London federation. It was originally established in 1916 as a specialist school for Oriental Studies and later expanded to include African and Middle Eastern studies. Today, SOAS remains a leading authority in Area Studies and is highly ranked in multiple related disciplines in the QS World University Rankings 2022, including Anthropology, Sociology, Law, and International Politics.
Location
As a member of the University of London, SOAS is centrally located in London, at Russell Square in Bloomsbury, a historic hub of literature and culture. - Language Centre – Offers short courses in a variety of languages, including Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Persian, and more.
- Brunei Gallery – Exhibits contemporary art and historical collections from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The gallery also features a small Japanese-style garden open to visitors.
- Students’ Union – Supports over 50 societies and clubs celebrating diversity in ethnicity, religion, and academic interests. Students can also participate in Student Central, connecting with peers across the University of London network.
