Federation University
Federation University was founded in 1870 in the city of Ballarat, beginning as The School of Mines. Since then, the university has grown and developed, including merging with other institutions such as the Ballarat School of Mines, Ballarat Teachers’ College, State College of Victoria, Ballarat Institute of Advanced Education, Ballarat College of Advanced Education, Ballarat University College, Wimmera Institute of TAFE, Monash University Gippsland Campus, Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education, and the University of Ballarat.
Federation University is both a university and a TAFE provider, offering a wide range of programs designed to directly meet the needs of current industries.
