Falmouth School of Art was founded in 1902 as a continuation of The Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society, with the aim of promoting useful and fine arts and supporting industry. In 2012, Falmouth University achieved full university status and gained the right to award degrees. Recently, Falmouth University celebrated its 120th anniversary and was awarded ‘No. 4’ for Safest University Setting by The Complete University Guide 2024. 

Location 

Falmouth University has two campuses: Falmouth Campus and Penryn Campus. 

Falmouth Campus is a vibrant campus ideal for inspiration and creative practice, featuring subtropical gardens and light-filled studios. It also offers various facilities and is just a few steps from the town center, with Gyllyngvase Beach (known as “Gylly”) a short walk away. Falmouth Campus houses the following schools:

Penryn Campus is located just outside Falmouth, set above the town of Penryn. This campus is home to many innovative architectural designs, modern facilities, and industry-standard technologies.
