Course: MSc Experimental Economics
Institution: Durham University
Please introduce yourself – what did you study before going to the UK?
Hello, my name is Non. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Chulalongkorn University.
Why did you choose to study in the UK?
There are two main reasons. First, the UK is home to many world-class universities. Second, most Master’s programmes in the UK take only one year, which is shorter than in many other countries and suits my plans.
Why did you choose this university and what impressed you during your studies?
Durham University was one of the universities that offered me a place. My decision was not based solely on rankings. I spoke with seniors at work, friends who had studied in the UK, and read various education forums before comparing my options. In the end, I felt this university suited me best.
What impressed me most is the beauty of Durham. It is a small, peaceful city that is very suitable for studying. For those interested in history, both the city and the university have a lot to offer. However, the cost of living is not cheap, it is quite close to London levels.
Why did you choose this programme?
I have been interested in economics since my undergraduate studies and wanted to deepen my knowledge. I was also inspired by an academic advisor to explore experimental economics, which is a relatively new field, and that influenced my decision to pursue this programme.
How has this course helped your career after graduation?
I believe the knowledge I gained in experimental economics can be applied to economic policy work in Thailand.
How did our service and team help you with your study abroad journey?
The most important support came from P’Kob at One Education. She helped someone with no prior experience of applying abroad understand the full timeline, including when to prepare for exams, how to submit scores, and what course options were available.
Although I already did a lot of research myself, consulting her helped me identify areas where I was not fully prepared. From my experience, P’Kob at One Education provided excellent guidance.
