Please tell us about yourself – what course and institute did you study before going to the UK?

Before going to the UK, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (International Programme – BBA) at Chulalongkorn University.

Why did you choose to study in the UK?

I chose to pursue my master’s degree in the UK because I have always enjoyed visiting the country and feel familiar with it. My family can travel to visit me more easily and quickly compared with the United States, and I also feel that the UK is safer than many other countries. Another reason is that the UK offers a wide range of programmes, especially in the areas I was interested in studying, such as Finance, Business, and Accounting.

Why did you choose this institute and what is your memorable experience at the institute?

I chose Queen Mary University of London because I wanted to study at a university located in London. Living in London offers many things to do and places to visit, and it is easy to get around, which makes living alone feel less lonely. What impressed me most was the university campus. It is spacious and similar to the campus environment at Chulalongkorn University, rather than being made up of small buildings like many other universities in London. This made the environment feel less crowded, and there are green spaces to walk around as well as a large library that can accommodate many students during exam periods.

Why did you choose this course?

I chose the MSc Corporate Finance programme because during my BBA degree I majored in Accounting. I felt that gaining knowledge in finance would broaden my perspective. The MSc Corporate Finance programme at Queen Mary also offers interesting compulsory and elective modules such as Case in Corporate Finance, Practical Valuation, and Real Estate Finance, which I believe will be useful in both everyday life and my future career.

How will your degree help your future career after graduation?

Corporate Finance focuses on financial management within organisations, including financial analysis and evaluating profit and loss statements for both the company you work for and its competitors. These skills are important for helping companies remain competitive in the market or when considering mergers and acquisitions. The knowledge from this programme can be applied to careers such as a consultant or financial analyst.

What did you like the most about our service and your counsellor?

P’Kob from One Education provided guidance from the very beginning, when I was still unsure about which programme or university to choose. She advised me on suitable universities, explained their strengths, and provided insights about the surrounding areas and accommodation options. She also helped me plan my IELTS preparation, including the target scores, when to take the exam, and how many attempts I might need to ensure I could submit my results on time. Kob also helped improve my SOP, advised me on how to make it more engaging, and supported me throughout the application process. After receiving my offer, she continued helping with the CAS process, visa preparation, and accommodation recommendations. In 2021, when COVID-19 restrictions were still in place and Thailand was on the UK’s Red List, Kob and the team also helped me arrange COVID testing before departure and advised me on quarantine hotel booking and preparation before travelling. Even after I arrived and started my studies, Kob continued to provide advice on various matters, including studying, travelling back to Thailand during holidays, and even guidance on applying for jobs after graduation.
