Please tell us about yourself – what course and institute did you study before going to the UK?
I studied Economics in the English Programme (EBA) at Chulalongkorn University.

Why did you choose to study in the UK?
I had the opportunity to study English in the UK twice for six weeks during lower secondary school, and I was very impressed with the experience. That inspired me to pursue further studies in the UK.

Why did you choose this university and what is your memorable experience at the university?

Bellerbys College Brighton
I chose to study here because of its high university progression rate. The school provides strong support for students, with teachers closely monitoring academic performance and offering guidance beyond academics. Students can choose between staying in school accommodation, renting privately, or living with a host family. The school maintains a good balance between structure for safety and flexibility for comfort.

University of Hull – BSc Biomedical Science (Hons)
I chose this university because the programme is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), which ensures that graduates meet professional standards and are well prepared with the necessary skills.

Additionally, in the third year, students have the opportunity to conduct research projects with academic supervisors, choosing topics based on the lecturers’ areas of expertise. This provides hands-on experience in laboratory research, data analysis, and the use of specialised programmes. I found this extremely valuable in preparing for further study or entering the workforce.

I also had the opportunity to study at University College London in the MSc Precision Medicine (Department of Medicine). I chose this programme because of my interest in precision and personalised medicine, and because UCL is a leading institution in this field, with research directly applied to patient care.

During my studies, I took elective modules and worked with supervisors from the Institute of Child Health (ICH) and UCL Genomics. The teaching team places great emphasis on ensuring students gain as much knowledge and experience as possible within the one-year programme. They are very supportive, approachable, and always willing to help. I would highly recommend the Personalised Medicine pathway at ICH for its welcoming environment and strong academic support.

Note: Precision Medicine (Department of Medicine) and Personalised Medicine (ICH) are different departments, although both are part of UCL.

What is your current occupation?
I am currently still a student and am in the process of applying for a PhD.

What did you like the most about our service and your counsellor?
One Education provided detailed guidance on selecting suitable programmes and institutions based on my preferences. They clearly outlined the application process and required documents, assisted with accommodation arrangements, and prioritised both safety and personal preferences.

When the actual accommodation did not match the initial expectations, they helped resolve the issue and arranged a new place.
