Course: International Law
Institution: University of Sussex
Please introduce yourself – what did you study before going to the UK?
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Thammasat University and currently work at the Judge Advocate General’s Department of the Royal Thai Navy.
Why did you choose to study in the UK?
I chose to study in the UK because there are many universities and a wide range of interesting Master’s programmes available. The programmes can be completed within one year, and the UK is a beautiful country with many places to visit. It is also convenient and easy to live in.
Why did you choose this university and what impressed you during your studies?
I chose University of Sussex because it has a strong reputation, offers a good academic environment, and provides programmes that match my interests. It is located in Brighton, a lovely seaside city with a pleasant climate, a relaxed atmosphere, and close proximity to London. After arriving, I found everything even better than expected. The weather is great, the learning environment is excellent, and the lecturers are very attentive, supportive, and always willing to help. The university accommodation is comfortable and well managed, with staff providing great care.
Getting around is easy, with both trains and buses available, and London is only about one hour away. Overall, everything has been very positive, and I am very happy living here.
Why did you choose this programme?
I chose International Law because I have a background in law and currently work in a legal field. I wanted to expand my knowledge into other areas of law beyond what I had previously studied.
How has this course helped your career after graduation?
Since I work in a legal role within the Royal Thai Navy, this programme can be directly applied to my work.
How did our service and team help you with your study abroad journey?
P’Kob from One Education provided excellent guidance at every step. When I first contacted her, I sought advice on universities, courses, and the overall preparation process. At that time, due to uncertainty during the COVID period, I decided not to proceed. Later, when I finally decided to study abroad, I contacted her again, and she still remembered all the details from our previous conversation. She guided me through every step again, including IELTS preparation, university selection, cost of living, and daily life in the UK. At that time, everything was very rushed, with only about 3–4 months to prepare all documents, but she helped ensure everything was completed on time.
Without her, I would not have known where to start. After receiving my offer, I still needed to arrange accommodation, and she continued to support me until everything was settled. Even after arriving in the UK, I still reach out to her for advice, whether it is about ordering items, opening a bank account, or contacting the university.
She is always responsive, no matter the time. I even asked her for travel advice during Christmas. She takes care of students like family, and I am truly glad to have had her as my advisor. I was introduced to her by a friend, and now I have recommended her to others as well. Speaking with her always makes me feel reassured, and everything runs smoothly.
