Deakin University has launched a new programme, the first of its kind in Australia, Master of Artificial Intelligence for Design and Creative Practice, which will welcome its first intake in Trimester 2 (July 2026). The Master of Artificial Intelligence for Design and Creative Practice is designed for creative professionals who are passionate about integrating AI into design and creative work. Students will gain hands-on experience, using Generative AI models to create prototypes and continuously develop ideas. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday creative workflows and organisations, career opportunities in this field are growing rapidly. Some organisations are even reaching the point where they may not hire creatives who lack AI skills, highlighting the strong demand for professionals in this field. The skills students gain from this programme can serve as a gateway to careers in design and creative industries, where AI-driven decision-making plays an important role. Whether working in Architecture and the Built Environment, Film and Media, or other design-related fields, students will learn how to collaborate with AI and apply it effectively in professional creative processes.

Students will learn from specialist lecturers and have access to Deakin’s world-class facilities, which are specifically designed to help develop essential skills and build confidence for future careers. Students will be able to apply Generative AI tools in real professional settings, allowing them to build connections with organisations and potentially open doors to future employment opportunities.

⏱️ Duration: 1–2 years (depending on previous qualifications)
🎓 Entry requirements: For the 1-year programme: Applicants must have graduated in a related field such as Advertising, Marketing, Digital Creation, Design, Creative Arts, Film and Television, and have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
For the 2-year programme: Applicants from any academic background are eligible to apply.
📄 English language requirement: IELTS 6.5 overall, with no band lower than 6.0
💰 Tuition fee (2026): AUD 39,800 per year (approximately THB 915,400 per year)
