If you are planning to study in Australia for the February 2027 intake, now is the time to apply. If you’re wondering whether it’s still possible, the answer is yes, but some programmes have already closed their applications. However, many programmes are still open. That’s why One Education would like to remind you to submit your applications as soon as possible, so you don’t miss out on opportunities. If you’ve only just decided or recently realised this is your plan, here’s what you need to prepare to apply in time for the February 2027 intake.
1. Seek advice from experts like One Education

📆 Recommended timeline (Undergraduate): February 2026 – May 2026
📆 Recommended timeline (Postgraduate): February 2026 – November 2026
If you’re unsure where to start, the first step is to consult One Education so they can help you plan your study journey. You’ll understand what needs to be done first and what documents are required. You can also receive advice on which universities offer your preferred programme, as well as entry requirements and eligibility criteria, which differ between universities. Experts will review your academic background and recommend suitable universities, helping you avoid applying to too many places unnecessarily. For undergraduate applicants, you can submit applications using predicted results.
2. Prepare and submit your application documents

📆 Recommended timeline (Undergraduate): July 2026 – August 2026
📆 Recommended timeline (Postgraduate): February 2026 – November 2026
After consulting with One Education and selecting your programme, you will receive a checklist of required documents. At this stage, you should begin preparing immediately, as time will be limited. Undergraduate applicants should have their final results ready. Postgraduate applicants who have not yet graduated can apply using their Year 4 Semester 1 results. English test results such as IELTS should also be ready. If your score does not meet the requirement, you may need to apply for an English pathway programme, and you must also consider visa application timelines.

3. Check application deadlines carefully
📆 Recommended timeline (Medicine programmes): September 2026
📆 Recommended timeline (General programmes): October 2026
You should carefully check the application deadlines for your chosen programme. One Education can assist with this. Some programmes have limited quotas and may close much earlier than others. If you miss the deadline, One Education can help you explore alternative options. Even if a programme has a published deadline, universities may close applications early if places are filled. Sometimes announcements are made only a few days in advance, so it’s important not to delay.
4. Prepare for and enroll in an English pathway (if needed)
📆 Recommended timeline (Undergraduate): September 2026 – December 2026
📆 Recommended timeline (Postgraduate): September 2026 – January 2027
If your English score does not meet the requirement and retaking the test is not successful, you should consider enrolling in an EAP (English for Academic Purposes) course at the university. EAP courses begin before your main degree, meaning you will need to travel earlier. This also affects your visa preparation timeline. If you miss the intake, you may need to wait until the next available EAP intake.
5. Accept your offer, pay the deposit, and arrange accommodation

📆 Recommended timeline: October 2026 – January 2027
Once you receive your offer, you should decide on your university as soon as possible. If you already know your preferred university, do not delay acceptance just to wait for other offers. This could cause you to miss the deadline for your top choice. After accepting your offer, One Education will assist you with accommodation arrangements. Options may be limited at this stage, but support will be provided.
6. Prepare financial documents and visa application

📆 Recommended timeline: July 2026 – January 2027
Students who start late may have limited time for visa preparation. You should discuss financial documentation with your sponsor early. Bank statements should be prepared in advance, as the embassy may request financial history past 6 months at any time. Receiving an offer alone is not enough, you must also obtain a student visa.
7. Attend a pre-departure seminar

Students who have accepted their offers are encouraged to attend a pre-departure seminar. You will meet other students going to the same university or city, learn what to prepare, and understand what to do after arriving in Australia.
If you’ve read this far, don’t stress. Take it step by step, nothing is too difficult. As long as you take action, One Education will be there to guide and support you throughout your journey, making your study abroad experience smooth and worry-free.
